Ever heard of the saying ‘the enemy lurks’? Bhekifa was a chief loved by many and adored by more. But he was also feared. Not only was a he the most powerful man in the valley but he was also feared because he was a dangerous man.
All who crossed the chief, lost their lives, livelihoods or loved ones. So with all that influence and sheer muscle, how come the Zungus always defeated him?
Bhekifa and Sengwayo were sworn enemies but the rivalry ran much deeper. When Ngubane returned to Bhubesini to reclaim his throne as chief of the valley, what he really resolved to do was unseat the Zungus of all their influence. After all the Zungus had supposedly done to his family, Ngubane’s single wish was to wipe out the lot of them.
A widely respected and famed clan esigodini, oManzini held an unspoken command over the village. While they had many enemies and fought many battles, they left most defeated.
Bhekifa’s was part of the defeated number and he detested every bit of it. He held a thick grudge against the Zungus all the way beyond the grave. Especially after how his ending came about.
A deeply traditional man, Bhekifa garnered a whole lot of protection and brawn from Nkabinde’s witchcraft. His inner being as the spirit of uSomahhashi, underwent years of fortification only to steal into Mbulazi flesh with all sorts of evil agendas, all thanks to Nkabinde.
Poor Fezile has had to play host to the menacing spirit of Somahhashi after being tricked into drinking Nkabinde’s potion. A brute force of terror, uSomahhashi continues to outdo, outwit and outplay every traditional healer who tries to exorcise him out of Fezile’s body.
What is going to become of Mbulazi under Somahhashi’s lawless and mad rule? Can Mehlomamba step up and take control of the excorism?
