Award-winning South African born rapper Khuli Chana was reportedly shot several times by the South African police (wrongfully) while driving in his car in the early hours of this morning. He luckily dodged the bullets and has survived the shocking attack.
The publicity company that represents Chana, Sheila Afari Communications released a press release this morning:
“Breaking News: Multiple Award Winning Artist, Khuli Chana, WRONGFULLY shot at and injured by police! Police open fire on Khuli Chana’s vehicle with intent to kill – apparently mistaking him for a kidnapper in the early hours of this morning (Monday), at the Caltex garage on New Road in Midrand, Johannesburg. Khuli Chana is lucky to be alive after the excessive lethal force used. He was alone at the time of the shooting, on his way to a gig in Pretoria. More details to follow in official press statement this afternoon.”
Khuli Chana released his latest music video Wannabeez (The Official Maftown Heights 2013 Anthem) featuring HashOne, KT and Towdee Mac last friday exclusively on Channel O.
