Being an entrepreneur can at times make you feel like you’re all alone in the world and there’s nobody that understands where you’re at or how you might be feeling and you’re the only person you can depend on. To help you along, here are some short-cut ways to get you back on track and inspired by the idea that got you where you are in the first place.

1. Interpret your fear as excitement.
When faced with a task that knocks on the door of your insecurities and seems daunting, adjust your mindset and tell yourself that the butterflies are actually excitement about learning a new task. Make the adrenalin work for you.

2. Set reasonable expectations.
According to an article by entrepreneur.com, people who feel like frauds often hold themselves to standards that no one could ever meet consistently. They’ve set this ridiculously high internal bar that almost sets up failure. Give yourself a break, would you judge your peers as harshly? No, we didn’t think so.

3. Learn from failure.
People who feel like impostors struggle with failure, this has a lot to do with self esteem, you must remember though, competent people make mistakes too. So flip it, and see the mistakes as a learning curve.

Here’s the trick, see failure in a positive light, document your mistakes and how these errors assisted your progress, join the dots. Do you think Nikola Tesla got it right the first time? We can guarantee he didn’t.
